Current Trends in the Practice of Federal Law Series: Money Laundering and Cryptocurrencies – An Introduction
This course will provide participants an introduction on Money Laundering and Cryptocurrencies. Participants will be exposed to a variety of legal challenges and basic terminology related to money laundering and cryptocurrency.

Participants will learn about the roles and responsibilities of each party at each phase, as well as about useful resources that NeDLSS offers.

This course focuses on the Initiate Phase of the Disclosure Project Management Framework. Discovery obligations start for parties as soon as litigation is commenced or anticipated. However, how do you know when litigation is reasonably anticipated? This course provides an overview on the guidelines and jurisprudence related to anticipating litigation. It is also describes triggers and indicators that clients and legal professionals should monitor in order to anticipate litigation.

This course focuses on the Review and Analysis Phase of the Disclosure Project Management Framework. This course reviews the common law privileges and provisions of the Canada Evidence Act that most often apply to the document review performed by Justice legal professionals.
