The first part of this course discusses the structure for case summaries, steps for drafting an excellent case summary, the rules of legal citation, and tips to write clearly in English. The second part involves an exercise reviewing a case summary, and allows participants to compare their case summary to the different options proposed by the facilitators. Participants are encouraged to review the two cases discussed in the exercises in advance of taking the course: Bennett v Bennett, 2016 ONSC 503 and Stover v Wallner (Paralegal Solutions), 2013 TMOB 183.
