Dates and times for sessions taking place over multiple days:

• 4-day French session
  • November 3, 4, 10 and 12, 2026 (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET on all days)
• 4-day English session
  • November 17, 19, 24 and 26, 2026 (12:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET on all days)

The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Certification course, developed by the Mental Health Commission of Canada-Opening Minds program, equips participants with the vital knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to recognize changes in mental health, intervene constructively, and apply practical support during crises or periods of declining mental health. This comprehensive 12-hour certification program offers a deep dive into the dual-continuum model, Canadian mental health statistics, and the various forms of stigma (self, public, and structural). Delivered over eight sequential modules in either a virtual or in-person format, participants will master the ALGES framework to address complex situations - ranging from panic attacks and acute stress to self-injury and psychotic episodes - while learning to establish community resource networks and prioritize personal self-care.

Client: Human Resources Branch in collaboration with the Centre of Expertise for Learning and Professional Development (CoELPD).
