The Purchasing course provides an overview of procurement transactions, focusing on key aspects of purchasing within the Department of Justice. Topics covered include various types of service contracts, goods procurement, purchase requisitions, and goods receipt (the initial step of invoice payment). Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the procurement process at the Department of Justice.

Learning objectives:

By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Gather basic information required for a purchase requisition
  • Understand the different types of service contracts
  • Create, modify and display purchase requisitions, purchase orders and goods receipts
  • Understand the goods receipt process as it relates to invoice payment
  • Print purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Execute general purchasing reports
  • Explore the procurement process at the Department of Justice

Client: Finance and Planning Branch in collaboration with The Centre of Expertise for Learning and Professional Development (CoELPD).
