In this interview, Magnolia shares her story of resilience, shaped by her family's history, including the intergenerational impacts of residential schools. She speaks about how her great-grandmother’s wisdom inspired her family’s pursuit of education to serve and uplift their people. Magnolia’s path to becoming a lawyer is intertwined with her Indigenous cultural heritage, her mother's linguistic and academic achievements, and her own dedication to Indigenous rights and justice.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

• Consider reconciliation through the lens of lived experience, resilience and hope
• Develop cultural competency skills in keeping with Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Call to Action #27
