Description
This beginner-level course provides Justice Canada employees with an introduction to Otto, the department’s secure, ProB, internal artificial intelligence solution. Designed for users with limited to no prior experience with AI tools, the course covers Otto’s core features, functionality, and best practices for effective use in day-to-day work, demonstrating how to navigate the platform, upload documents, and leverage its basic capabilities while maintaining security and privacy standards.
Participants will learn how Otto can support brainstorming, writing assistance, document summarization, translation, and question answering using trusted sources. The course includes a guided walkthrough of Otto’s main modes: Chat, Q&A, Summarize, and Translate.
Learning Objectives/ Topics covered:
- The purpose, scope and limitations of Otto’s use within Justice Canada
- The different modes available in Otto, as well as their use cases
- How to securely upload, manage and delete documents in Otto
- Basic workflows for brainstorming, summarizing, translating and performing document-based Q&A
- Best practices for responsible and ethical use of AI, including privacy and information management requirements
- Resources and support available for ongoing learning and troubleshooting
