Description

Join members of the CBA Environment, Energy and Resources Law Section and their Justice counterparts as they engage in dialogue surrounding current environment and energy topics.

The program will include presentations on major projects and the Building Canada Act. Impact Assessment Act SCC Reference and the recent appeal of Alberta Court of Appeal decision, as well as critical minerals will also be discussed. In addition, participants will hear about recent developments in the United States from the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.

This event will be hosted primarily in English. However, simultaneous interpretation in French (and English) will be provided.

 Learning objectives / Topics covered

  • By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to discuss major projects and the Building Canada Act.
  • By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to explain the issues in relation to the SCC Reference re Impact Assessment Act and the recent appeal of the Alberta Court of Appeal decision.
  • By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to summarize the federal approach and regulatory considerations related to critical minerals.
