Description
This session focuses on strategies when dealing with traumatic information and imagery that can arise in the course of our work, including in written, video and auditory evidence. This session discusses neurobiology and how our nervous system may be activated during intrusive trauma exposure. It will suggest strategies in three areas of intervention: before exposure (prevention), during exposure (intervention) & and after exposure (recovery). This session is open to any employee that has or may encounterexposure to trauma images regardless of the position they hold in the organization. This is a fast-paced presentation intended to provide staff with multiple practical options to protect their well-being.
Topics covered
- Increase awareness & intentionality around traumatic material.
- Share practical, technical & experiential strategies to manage traumatic material.
- Share resources/research.
- Understand that: we can have strategies to seek to prevent, intervene & recover from intrusive imagery/trauma.
This course is in English, with interpretation available in French.
Client: National Litigation Sector in collaboration with the Centre of Expertise for Learning and Professional Development (CoELPD).
