Description
Please note that this course is open to Justice Canada legal professionals only (lawyers, notaries who are members of the Chambre des notaires du Québec and paralegals).
Legal Project Management (LegalPM) aims to optimize case management more effectively and efficiently while meeting client expectations. In addition to substantive legal knowledge, clients increasingly expect efficient, predictable and consistent legal services. LegalPM therefore enables legal professionals to meet these needs by providing tools and techniques for effective planning, resource allocation, information sharing and knowledge development in order to improve processes, methods and overall service delivery.
The objective of this training is to equip legal professionals to better perform their role, promote, encourage and foster a culture of LegalPM within their teams or units in accordance with the Directive on LegalPM.
The course consists of an overview of the general principles of LegalPM as well as a workshop to conduct a practical exercise for the drafting of a Project Charter for a file related to a line of business of the Department (litigation, advisory, legislative and policy).
Topics covered
- Overview of general LegalPM principles
- A workshop to draft a Project Charter for a file related to a business line of the Department (litigation, advisory, legislative, policy).
Registration deadline: 5 working days prior to the course date.
