Description
Please note that this course is only open to Justice Canada employees.
This course will build your understanding of what Legal Knowledge Management (LKM) is and why it is important. You will learn about the difference between LKM and Information Management, and the roles and responsibilities for LKM in the Department, as set out in the Directive on LKM. In addition, through participation in interactive case studies, this course will allow you to become familiar with various tools and practices to support LKM, as set out in the Guidelines on LKM, and how to incorporate these in your day-to-day work.
Learning Objectives
- Understand what LKM is, and why it is important for the Department.
- Be able to distinguish between Information Management (IM) and LKM
- Become familiar with the LKM Strategic Plan
- Understand roles and responsibilities for LKM at Justice, as set out in the LKM Directive
- Develop an understanding of various LKM tools and practices, as outlined in the LKM Guidelines, and learn how to incorporate these in your day-to-day work
