Description
The presentation is intended to raise awareness of the people-centered approach to justice, the role of the Department of Justice in advancing the Sustainable Development Goal 16 and Justice Canada intersectional GBA plus approach. It will provide practical advice on the importance of plain language in drafting legislation, policies and court processes and share the experiences of the instructing counsel and legislative counsel drafting in new plain language the new Social Security Tribunal Rules of Procedure. The participants will be invited to consider legislative drafting through these lenses.
