This session is only open to employees of the Policy Sector in the Department of Justice.
The speaking engagement will address the following topics:
- Terminology related to race and racism.
- How racism is manifested within Canadian society, the federal public service and the justice system.
- Results from the October 2023 Independent Auditor’s Report on Inclusion in the Workplace for Racialized Employees and the impact on the Department of Justice.
- Strategies for advancing racial equality and inclusion in the workplace, including strategies to implement the Clerk’s Call to Action.
- Strategies for individual employees to address racism in the workplace.
- Q&A
Learning objectives:
By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Understand terminology related to race and racism
- Understand how racism is manifested within Canadian society, the federal public service and the justice system.
- Understand strategies for advancing racial equality and inclusion in the workplace, including strategies to implement the Clerk’s Call to Action.
- Understand strategies for individual employees to address racism in the workplace.
