Objectives
This workshop is designed to help employees:
1. develop a greater awareness of the impact of their work on their well-being
2. further their understanding of the concepts of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue/empathic distress and burnout
3. further develop their capacity for self-care and emotional self-regulation
Agenda
1. Creating a space for awareness through a grounding exercise
2. A continuum of occupational stress: compassion fatigue / empathic distress/vicarious trauma and burnout
3. Factors that contribute to compassion fatigue / empathic distress / vicarious trauma and burnout
4. How to prevent and recover from compassion fatigue / empathic distress/vicarious trauma and burnout
5. Integration: steps I can undertake to protect myself from compassion fatigue/empathic distress/vicarious trauma and burnout
