Description

This course provides all employees information, training and resources concerning the program. The course also raises awareness to prevent insider risks within the Department of Justice. This course is not a prerequisite for the manager’s course.

Learning Objectives:

This course is designed to provide education and awareness to Justice employees regarding:

• What is an insider risk? Why an insider risk program? Who can be an insider risk?

• Explain the importance of detecting and reporting potential insider risks

• Identify the risks, indicators of insider risk behaviour and motivations

• Describe the categories of insider activities including fraud

• How to prevent and report insider risk

• How can you mitigate insider risks and threats?

What you learn from this course can be applied within any department or agency of the Government of Canada.

All Department of Justice (JUS) employees are encouraged to complete this course. This includes JUS employees working within DLSUs as well as individuals supporting JUS employees and DLSU services.

If you are working for a DLSU, please note that your home department might have its own Insider Risk Program. Therefore, we recommend you contact the security practitioners at your home department to familiarize yourselves with their security programs, policies, and practices.
