Description

This course is designed to increase awareness and provide guidance on what to do in the event of a building evacuation, lockdown or shelter-in-place situation. The Building Emergency Evacuation Teams (BEET) program incorporates in this course, a communication strategy, videos, and quizzes that will prepare you for the annual mandatory drill and exercise at your office.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the differences between an evacuation, lockdown and shelter-in-place situation;
  • Recognize characteristics of an armed intruder;
  • Identify responses to an armed intruder situation.

Presented by: Safety, Security and Emergency Management Division in collaboration with the Centre of Expertise for Learning and Professional Development (CoELPD).
