Description

This session presents an introduction to the McGill Guide, the recognized standard for legal citation in Canada. Topics discussed also include the importance of a using a uniform system of legal citation, as well as some of the most significant changes observed to this citation style since its first edition in 1986.

Learning Objectives: 

By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to: 

  • Access the McGill Guide
  • Cite Canadian legislation
  • Cite Canadian case law
  • Cite secondary sources
