Description
The objectives of the program are to recognize anti-Jewish racism as equal of DE&I discussions on hate and intolerance, and to make connections between historical and contemporary manifestation of anti-Jewish racism. The program will also explore how the speaker’s own experience as a gay man has informed his approach to his Jewish identity and how it informs his pride.
Learning objectives:
The purpose of the program is to educate and build awareness about the topic of antisemitism from an historical to contemporary context. Participants will gain a better understanding and of anti-Jewish Racism and how it should be recognized as an equal member of EE,D&I and anti-Racism. Participants will also have a better understanding of what is the distortion of the Holocaust and how the normalization of Jewish hate is resurfacing once again and it’s impact on mental health for the Jewish community. Participants will also learn about the intersectionality of being Jewish and 2SLGBTQI+as well as to how to become allies. All of this work is about valuing diversity and inclusion and using one’s power and privilege to contribute to diversity and inclusion.
