Description

This course will introduce the services and resources provided by the Justice Library Services team:

  • Searching and navigating in iFolio, the library catalogue, to locate print and electronic materials
  • Accessing legal research databases and using e-resources to facilitate legal research
  • An overview of the research and reference and document retrieval services provided by the Library, and how to request them
  • Where to get more training on legal research tools and techniques

This course is named after the main point of contact for the library "AskUs" so make sure to bring your questions to ask us!

Learning objectives:

By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the range of services offered by the library and know how to access them
  • Use the iFolio catalogue to access print and electronic resources
  • Choose which databases are best suited to your research needs and an understanding of e-resource navigation
  • Navigate Library intranet and resource sites
  • Manage research and reference requests to the AskUs service
  • Assess your comfort with legal research tools and know where to find tools and resources to improve skills.
