A quick and interactive online self-paced course that covers the essentials of open government, globally, in Canada, and at Justice Canada. You will learn what open government means, its objectives, and the benefits it provides to you as both an employee and as a Canadian citizen.
You will be introduced to key open government organizations and related initiatives, and learn about your employee responsibilities and where you can find resources and support.
Learning objectives:
By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- identify Open Government objectives
- explain how Open Government can help you
- state what the Open Government Partnership is
- recognize how Open Government links to the United Nations 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goal 16
- explain what a National Action Plan is
- name who coordinates Open Government in Canada
- list the three pillars of Open Government in Canada
- outline employee responsibilities related to Open Government
