- 2-day French session - December 2 & 3, 2026 (12:30pm to 3:30pm ET)
- 2-day English session - December 8 & 9, 2026 (12:30pm to 3:30pm ET)

This workshop aims to enhance the legal and professional capacities of employees and managers of the Department of Justice Canada by providing them with foundational information on conflict theory and management.
This will be accomplished through a variety of teaching techniques designed to enhance skills development and reflective learning, such as short lectures, presentations, exercises, discussions and role plays.
To simulate a classroom experience, this course is centred around participant engagement and group work. To ensure that facilitators can organize breakout rooms with the correct number of participants and the group can fully benefit from these activities, we ask that you create space in your schedule to remain present for the entire session. If you need to step away from the session briefly, please advise the training facilitator at the beginning of the session.
Learning objectives:
Participants must attend at least 80% of each day of the learning activity to receive a Completed status for this course, as full participation is essential to achieving the learning objectives.
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Understand Informal Conflict Management at Justice
- Understand interest-based conflict management options and their relation to rights-based processed
- Develop, enhance and practice skills in active listening and communication
- Develop skills that will assist participants to become effective in preventing and managing conflict in the workplace.
Client: Informal Conflict Management System (ICMS) in collaboration with the Centre of Expertise for Learning and Professional Development (CoELPD).
Registration deadline: 5 working days prior to the course date.
