Description

This course is part of the NUIX Discover series offered by the National eDiscovery and Litigation Support Services (NeDLSS). NUIX Discover (previously Ringtail) is the document review platform used by the Department of Justice. NeDLSS offers three types of courses in the NUIX Discover series: Basics, Analytics, and Case Administration. This course will focus on NUIX Discover Analytics.

This course is intended for Reviewers who would like to learn how to use Nuix Discover’s search term families in order to expedite their document review. The course explains how Reviewers can use search term families to code documents, to search for documents, and how to check keywords. It also covers how to use search term families to quality control coding decisions and use them to redact specific terms.

It does not cover how to create search term families as this is a task that must be done by a Case Leader or Case Administrator. For this information, NeDLSS recommends the Case Leader training on Search Term Families.

Topics Covered:

  • Explaining Search Term Families (6:14)
  • Importance of effective Search Term Families (16:02)
  • Using Search Term Families for Document Review (20:45)
  • Search Term Families and Map Pane (24:37)
  • Narrowing the Search (26:18)
  • Quality control using Search Term Families (29:17)
  • Redacting using Search Term Families (31:24)
  • Search Term Feature Analysis (35:58)
