Description
The Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression (ARAO) training aims to help reach excellence in the Public Service by supporting the Department's leadership and staff in order to work ethically, effectively and sensitively in diverse environments. The training is delivered in three parts. Participants must attend to all three parts.
Learning Objectives:
ARAO trainings are for participants to:
- Develop their capacities to analyzing oppression and racism as well as gain a foundational understanding of privilege and allyship.
- Increase understanding of how personal social identities impact interactions with colleagues
- Gain theoretical and practical resources that encourage ARAO within organizational leadership and structure
- Gain resources that support the evaluation theory and practice that include the perspectives, consider the needs and promotes the wellbeing of black, indigenous, and other racialized groups who have been historically oppressed and underrepresented in Canada
