Description

Dates:

  • French session - 2 days of 2 hours on June 3 and 6, 2024 (1:00 to 3:00 ET)
  • English session - 2 days of 2 hours on June 11 and 12, 2024 (1:00 to 3:00 ET)

At the end of the activity, you will have a better understanding of the requirements of the Statutory Instruments Act and the process for making regulations.

Topics covered:

  • Definitions of "statutory instrument" and "regulation"
  • Examination of proposed regulations
  • Regulatory Policy, Regulatory impact analysis statements (RIAS) and Pre-publication
  • Making, Registration and Publication of regulations
  • Coming into force of regulations
  • Parliamentary scrutiny
