Description
An engaging 60-minute online self-paced course that covers everything you need to know about information management at Justice. You will learn how to manage information effectively, as a producer of information, recipient of information from within Justice or from external sources, or as a sharer of information as you communicate and collaborate with your colleagues and clients.
You will learn about the role of information in our department's business processes and activities and the corresponding need to follow Government of Canada and Department of Justice policies, guidelines, and best practices. Building an understanding of your IM roles and responsibilities, the benefits of properly managed information will help Justice operate more effectively and serve its clients better
Learning objectives:
By the end of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Develop the ability to distinguish between transitory and business information, and determining what to keep and what not to keep.
- Understand and meet your information management responsibilities.
- Be aware of information management tools, resources, guidelines and best practices.
- Understand information management (IM) at Justice, focusing on what you need to know to support the effective use, storage and safeguarding of information.
