The Working Mind, an evidence-based training, is designed to initiate a shift in the way people think and feel about and act with respect to mental health. It attempts to do so by increasing people's awareness; reducing stigma and other barriers to care in the workplace; encouraging mental health conversations; and strengthening personal resilience in order to maintain personal wellness and support others living with a mental health problem or illness in a psychologically healthy and safe work setting. This virtual course provides practical knowledge and skills to address mental health and mental illness in the workplace.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Define basic concepts related to mental health and mental illness;
- Recognize the impact of stigma and discuss how to reduce stigma and other barriers to care in the workplace;
- Recognize and keep track of changes in their mental health and well-being and know when to take appropriate actions;
- Be able to have conversations about mental health and mental illness with colleagues, friends and family members;
- Identify and practice coping strategies to manage stress and remain resilient;
- Identify and use available resources to support themselves and others
In this virtual training, managers will cover the following 4 core modules:
- Module 1 - Mental Health & Stigma
- Module 2 - Mental Health in the Workplace
- Module 3 - Stress and Resilience
- Module 4 - Supporting your team

Sensitive Content – Trigger Warning
