Please note that this course is open to Justice Canada legal professionals only (lawyers, notaries who are members of the Chambre des notaires du Québec and paralegals).

The objective of this course is to highlight the differences between prerogative immunity from statute, intergovernmental immunity, and interjurisdictional immunity; to describe the origin and evolution of these doctrines; and to review recent case law.

At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to understand the differences between the three doctrines and know how to assess an operational immunity issue.
