Description

NOTE:

  • This course is only open to Justice Canada Legal Professionals.
  • The course will be given partly in French and partly in English, without simultaneous translation.

 

This course will introduce participants to Canada's international human rights obligations and discuss why this information is important for Justice legal professionals. Basic knowledge of international law is helpful but not essential.

  • Domestic implementation of Canada's obligations
  • International monitoring mechanisms
  • Domestic effect of international human rights norms
  • Tools and helpful resources
