Description

This course will provide participants with an understanding of the standards of judicial review and their significance in administrative law. By the end of the session, participants will understand the different standards of review and their application by the courts in reviewing administrative decisions in the federal context.

Topics covered:

  • Role of standards of review in the judicial review process
  • Factors that determine the applicable standard of review
  • How to apply the reasonableness standard of review
  • Consideration of key aspects of the standard of review jurisprudence, most particularly Vavilov and the decisions that have followed in the years since.
