Fundamentals of Solicitor-Client Privilege in the Federal Public Sector
This course will provide participants with a basic understanding of the principles relevant to solicitor-client privilege, with a particular focus on solicitor-client privilege in the government context. In addition to reviewing the components and implications of the privilege, this course will provide the necessary guidance for the application of the privilege in areas such as access to information and privacy, litigation and parliamentary committees. This course will also review the leading jurisprudence in the field and touch on the emerging and more controversial issues.
